Here is what we do:
Your original photos should be placed loose in your box or bin. No photo albums and no envelopes please.
We sort and batch your photos by the size of your prints (i.e. batch all 8x10s together; then 5x7s; then 4x6s; then 3x5s, then polaroids, then wallets and so forth).
Then we rotate your photos so that they are all facing the same way (i.e. place all of your vertical portrait 4x6s in one pile and then of all your horizontal landscape 4x6s in another pile).
We make sure all photos are facing in the same direction (just like a deck of playing cards).
We then batch your portraits separately from your landscapes in an upright fashion.
We place rubber bands around each batch of 150 photos or so preparing them for the scanning process.
Finally, we place an index card in front of each batch (which we scan) to make it easy for you to identify your batches upon their return to you.
